Privacy policy

What we keep

Your account: your email address, your name if you give it, and your birth month and year if you add them to your profile. Your password is stored only in a scrambled form that cannot be read back.

Your plans: the numbers you enter into the calculator and the scenarios you save, including what you tell the chat when it fills a plan in for you.

Messages from the contact form: your name, your email address and what you wrote. To limit abuse of the form we also keep a scrambled fingerprint of the network address a message came from, which cannot be turned back into the address.

How you use the site once signed in: when you sign in and how (password, fingerprint or face, or Google), and which pages you open and when. We keep this for 13 months, and only the site's administrators see it.

What we use it for

To run the calculator for you, to keep your plans available when you sign in again, to see which parts of the site are used so we know what to improve, to send the emails an account needs (confirming your address, resetting a password) and to answer you when you write to us.

We do not sell your information, and we do not show advertising.

Who else handles it

The company that hosts the site and its database, and the email service that delivers our messages, handle your information only to provide those services.

When you use a chat on the site, your question and the figures from your plan are sent to the language model the site uses so that it can answer.

Cookies

One cookie keeps you signed in. The site also remembers display choices such as light or dark mode in your browser. There are no advertising or tracking cookies.

Your choices

You can change your profile or delete your account at any time from the Account page. Deleting your account removes your plans with it.

To ask what we hold about you, or to have a contact message removed, write to us through the contact form on the front page.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. A change that matters will also be announced on the site.
